Having Conversations in the Dark :: Angelica & Matthew's NJ Lakeside Wedding

I said it before and I'll say it again: Congratulations Angelica and Matthew!

The couple grew up in the same town around the corner form each other. It's funny sometimes how the person we end up being with is often times closer than we think. I know personally, for Rick and I, we first met while working a gymnastics meet at his mother's gymnastic's school (my sister was a gymnast, which is why I was there). We grew up in neighboring towns but didn't actually go on our first date until almost eight years after high school.

Matthew popped the question on Christmas morning in the couple's living room. He hid the ring in her stocking and Angelica sure found a surprise while opening their gifts!

What a great day we had at The Estate at Eagle Lake! Angelia arrived shortly before noon to get ready at the gorgeous on-site bridal suite as her soon-to-be hubby got ready in the adjacent groom's suite.

Angelica wore a beautiful Melissa Sweet gown that she found at David's Bridal. The lace and custom flutter sleeves went so gorgeously with their vintage/rustic vibe.

The couple originally planned to keep things traditional and not have a first look. However, a day or two before the wedding, Angelica contacted me to see about changing the timeline to do a first look because of the rain forecast. She said she didn't want to take away from the ceremony experience by having to rush the ceremony to make sure we could get photos in before the rain. The first look was a very intimate moment between the couple (and two photographers, lo) in the garden area of the venue.

So while it wasn't what we had planned on doing, it gave Angelica and Matthew more time to spend with their guest (and each other) during the reception.

The wedding went perfectly, partly in thanks to wedding planner Brianna Reinhardt for planning the amazing day! She is one of the best wedding planners in New Jersey. We were able to work together to get the best photos possible of the couple’s special day.

The reception was so much fun! Everyone loved the food catered by McFadden's Catering with a buffet styled dinner.

Angelica and Matthew danced their first dance to Conversations in the Dark by John Legend, which was played by DJ Stevie. DJ Stevie is one of the two preferred DJs that work at the venue.

The whole day was amazing. "We absolutely loved our catering (Kevin McFadden), florist (Sarah Conte), and photography (Brittany Harmening) vendors. Working with Kevin and Brittany was such a breeze and so comfortable. There was plenty of food and so delicious. Brittany kept all the photos organized and was on it while helping us find poses and places! Our flowers with Perna's were absolutely stunning. Relic Redo provided our beautiful vintage and rustic decor that was complimented all night!" - Angelica
