So many of our couples were dealt a tough year. In March, the entire country was shut down, with exception of essential businesses, which ultimately meant weddings and other celebrations were put on hold. I couldn't even begin to imagine what they were going through and feeling. All I knew is that I wanted to help our couples as much as possible. So began the rescheduling of all our April, May and June weddings, including Elizabeth and Bryan.
I first met the couple through Elizabeth's brother, who's wedding we also photographed in 2019. The Hamilton native couple planned to marry each other on April 24, 2020 at St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish with their friends and family to witness. While they had to change their plans, like many couples, #loveisnotcancelled so they pivoted. The two pushed their date to July 10, 2020 and relocated their reception from an indoor venue to an outdoor one that was covered - which was a good choice. Other than the obvious reason of protection from rain, we needed it that day for protection from Tropical Storm Fay!
They say rain on your wedding day is a good thing. Elizabeth and Bryan had a great time with their friends and family. Elizabeth said she was most worried about the rain, but in the end, it cleared up for the reception and it was so fun. Her advise for couples planning their big day - "Really just stop and look at everything because it’s such a big day and it only happens once!"
