I always enjoy photographing weddings. There's so much love in the air and the bride and groom spent so much time carefully planning all the details. It was not any different for Jessica and David’s wedding, either! You might remember them from their engagement session blog, if not, check it out here.
The wedding and reception was set to both take place at Kathedral Event Center - however due to COVID-19, the ceremony was moved to the Hammonton Lake Park, which is only down the street from the venue. Jessica mentioned that she originally chose Kathedral Event Center for there beautiful indoor venue. Never did I ever think they would be so accommodating
to still be able to host the wedding on their grounds outside under a tent. Without them
my wedding would have never happened in the place I fell in love with. The venue features colorful stained glass windows - which provided unique, one-of-a-kind portraits for the couple.
But wait, that's not all the venue has. Kathedral also features the couple's name on their marquee sign - in the couple's colors!! I've never seen this before and I totally love it! How cool is that? Can I have more couples get married here so I can do some fun photos?
The park provided beautiful backgrounds for the ceremony, wedding and family portraits - while it might not have been the original plan, it was a beautiful pivot. They danced to their first song Heaven by Bryan Adams, which was played by DJ Rockin Ray from DJ's Available Sound and Light.
A few more people that helped their wedding go off without a hitch was:
Cake Maker: Diane's Patisserie based out of Berlin, NJ. Diane was such a sweetheart. The cake itself was beautiful but the flavors were even better.
Wedding Planner: Jenn Maturano Custom Event Coordinator based out of Hammonton NJ. I can not rave enough on how hard she worked to make my day special. From last min changes to me balling my eyes out to her when I didn't know what to do with so many changes going around us. Her professionalism and attention to detail is impeccable. I cannot recommend her enough.
Caterer: La Orocovena based out of Vineland,NJ. Food was great and to think I booked them blind but it was one of the best decisions because the food was so worth it.
Videographer: WV Productions based out of Jackson, NJ . Will was great to work with and the drone shots we were able to preview were awesome.
Photographer: Brittany Harmening Photography, based out of Bordentown, NJ. Brittany and Rick, her husband, were very professional. Brittany did more then just be a photographer - she also helped keep me calm so I wouldn't mess up my makeup since I was a wreck from the moment I saw myself with my dress on all dolled up.
Jessica and David said I Do at the Hammonton Lake Park. Their friends and family surrounded them with love and celebrated their much-awaited nuptials. The couple met online ten and a half years ago. The two have a beautiful daughter, who was one of the flower girls.
David proposed on Christmas morning while everyone was sleeping. He turned on all the Christmas lights and woke me up and proposed to me under the tree. What a perfect moment - so intimate and special.
When I asked Jessica what her favorite part of the wedding was, she said:
“Being able to marry my best friend." The couple wrote their own vows that they chose to share with their guests at their reception prior to toasts.
**Just to clarify, Jessica had her vows written prior on her phone, however she chose to rewrite them on index cards the morning of the wedding - she didn't want to have her phone on her**
You could tell they were really loving every minute of their special day surrounded by family and friends who loved them).
As for me, one of my personal favorite moments of the wedding was their walk down the aisle after saying I Do. I've never had a couple dance their way out of the ceremony before - and it was so fun. I mean, check these out!!
